Client

Development of the program "Safety for All" was commissioned by Renault Polska - the leading manufacturer of the safest cars in the market. For many years Renault has been also undertaking activities for shaping responsible behavior of all users of the road and for awakening the awareness of responsibility for own safety, as well as safety of others.

Task

MyNetwork Poland undertook the task of transferring the course under the title of "Safety for All", which for the last five years has been very successful in the entire Europe in printed version, to the computer screens at schools and homes. So far over 7 million children have participated in the training, including almost 500 thousand only in Poland. No doubt that publication of the program in a free-of-charge form in the Internet will result in further increase of those numbers. Since the very beginning, the mission underlying the enterprise was to promote safe behaviors on the road among children and their parents. Such a vital task required extremely responsible and meticulous approach.

Tastes of young recipients of the training also posed a considerable challenge and they could be satisfied only by the highest quality graphical design and resort to the most recent achievements of the modern multimedia.

Solution

In order to pass knowledge to children in a reliable, but also appealing way and generate motivation for going through consecutive lessons, fully e-learning training was created with structure referring to computer games - so popular with children. An alien creature Woosh, stimulating to children's imagination, introduces young students to safety rules and regulations while telling the story of his stay on the Planet Earth; search for fuel for his space ship and other adventures. As a result, children become engrossed in the unfolding action and motivated to undertake action by interactive features, such as quizzes, games, and riddles.

Created with meticulous care, exemplary scenes and animations featuring children participating in the road traffic as main heroes induce children to identify with the characters. In this way the training not only passes on the knowledge, but also develops correct patterns of behavior. A similar function is also performed by computer games that simulate, among others, a daily ride on a bus t school, roller-skating, biking, or walking on the street.

Besides lessons intended for children, the program features also parts designed especially for teachers and parents. Through the training teachers get familiar with the methodological principles that underlain creation of lessons, as well as the method for their execution, thanks to which they will be effectively prepared to run classes within the scope of communication education. As for parents, the program stresses the idea that their own behavior directly affects safety of their children.

Outcomes

The task of creation of a modern version of the course "Safety for All" was completed with a remarkable success. Extension of the traditional educational program by e-learning results in a more efficient, faster, and more enjoyable learning experience. At the same time, use of the Internet as a medium and the most recent IT achievements ensures access to considerably larger numbers of children, as compared with the conventional form of the program "Safety for All". The training makes a considerable contribution to increasing safety of children on the road.
