Increase in training efficiency due to use of blended learning method

Servier Poland is a part of biggest private pharmaceutical company in France, employing 16 000 people in over 140 countries all over the world. Servier is considered among most innovative pharmaceutical companies in the world - yearly it allocates 25% of its income in R&D, which doubles the average percentage in this industry.
Task
Main goal of e-learning implementation in Servier Poland was to raise knowledge of Medical Representatives in field directly connected with their everyday duties, allowing them to increase efficiency of their efforts.
Planned e-training were also to become a part of plan of education and human resources development.
Solution
Because of character of MPs work decision has been made to create a training that will be distributed on CDs. It allowed implementing lots of attractive graphics and animation into training. Training participants could take part in it outside of the company - all they needed was computer. Final exam that every participant had to pass were included in special section of Company's network and it could be accessed from any computer connected with Internet.
One of the important assumptions made in stage of planning the training was an effect of "education through entertainment". Because of that many humorous elements can be found in the training, including two friendly characters accompanying the participant i course of the lessons - Dr. Bone and Skeleton. Also final exam was prepared in unique form of a computer game. Łukasz Mlost, e-learning projects manager in MyNetwork Poland underscores the fact that "entertaining form of the training was only subsequent and supporting to main goals of the training which were strictly educational".
Outcomes
Use of e-learning as a activity prior to participation in traditional training allowed equalization of MPs knowledge, though influencing positively whole education process.
It appeared that e-learning in blended formula is not only effective, but also attractive for participants. |
