20,000 students of virtual academy!
E-learning – education on distance – belongs to fastest growing segments of IT market. Trainings conducted by means of new technologies were gaining popularity in US for the past few years. Now this form of education finds new enthusiasts in whole Europe – including our country.
There are two types of e-trainings: closed in-company trainings requested by corporations and institutions in order to educate their employees; and open trainings targeted to wide audience. Usually apart from being motivated and meeting specific requirements, access to Internet is the only thing needed to participate in open training.
European Internet Academy (www.akademiaeuropejska.edu.pl) is an example of open training – and it is also first large project of this type developed in Poland. Because of its pioneer character launch of the Academy was a kind of test for Polish e-learning market.
Today, after nine months of functioning, Academy became an overwhelming success that exceeded expectations of all its initiators and developers. During this time over 20,000 students participated in the training – as much as there are students of Jagiellonian University. More than 3,000 people accomplished the training – this can be compared with number of Warsaw University graduates in last year.
E-learning means education through fun, with use of latest technologies and various multimedia. Success of Academy proves e-learning efficiency and great interest Internet users have in this kind of educatory projects.
European Internet Academy has been created by MyNetwork Polska for Pro Europa Association. Academy is a second implementation of MyLearning platform – first took place when Internet Stock Game for Schools was developed for Chancellery of President of Poland and Warsaw Stock Exchange.
MyLearning is an advanced tool for creating trainings in World Wide Web environment – its module-based structure makes it possible to develop extensive trainings with interactive and multimedia features basing on materials provided by Client in a very short time. Possibility to shape the complexity of training freely together with functionality and graphics that can be easily modified guarantees individual character of every implementation of MyLearning platform.
