Launch of "Keep safe in mountains!" e-training

www.gopr.com.pl - this is an address of GOPR (Mountain Voluntary Rescue Team) "Keep safe in mountains!" open training. It is first e-training in Poland dedicated to mountain-safety issues: first aid, prophylactics and survival in extreme situations. Training content has been built basing on GOPR rescuers knowledge and experience while graphic design and programming is a work of MyNetwork Polska.

Training consists of over 100 screens. Learning material has been divided into three sections: first aid, prophylactics and survival.

All texts are read by narrator and commented by virtual rescuer - student's assistant, who guides him through all screens of the training. During project development emphasis has been put on visualizing content in best possible way and engaging participant into various interactions: quizzes and tests. These solutions were introduced in order to make process of knowledge acquisition consent with assumptions of affective pedagogy (education through fun and emotions).

Training is generally dedicated to youth - young people are those who partake in mountain accidents most often - but knowledge it contains will be of a great help to all interested in mountain tourism. In order to achieve their main goal - decrease number of accidents in mountains - initiators of the project are willing to make "Keep safe in mountains!" training obligatory in Polish education system.

Honorary patronage and support:
  • Ministry of National Education and Sport
  • Spouse of the President of the Republic of Poland - Mrs. Jolanta Kwa?niewska
  • Member of Senate Mrs. Gra?yna Staniszewska (Interkl@sa program)
  • The Ombudsman for Children in Poland

Thanks to sponsors' support (FinLife, Hi Mountain, Plus GSM) training is free for all interested – all they need is computer with access to Internet. Media patrons, especially Onet.pl portal, successfully promote the training among Internet users.
